Hi there,
Words are my business, whether spoken, written, or taught. As a professional freelancer, I've worked with a variety of media that has flung those words further than this prairie chicken ever thought possible. Every week for almost a decade, I've written Sunny Side Up, a Christian faith and life column for Yorkton This Week. I'm also the reluctant author of West Nile Diary, and a former editor of Prairies North magazine.
I speak at women's conferences and elsewhere, teach writing and journalling workshops, and enjoy encouraging younger writers along the writing path.
The best part of my life is this: I’m married to (and often team-speak with) Rick, a very special clergyman I call 'the Preacher' in my Sunny Side Up columns. Two great young adults (and one very fine in-law!) call me mom, and the three cutest human be’ins in the world call me Nana. (I call them my beans in my writing, if you ever wonder!)
I'm a woman of words. But 'child' is what God calls me in the quiet of my spirit when he wants my attention. When I hear him (and I don't always...but I try!) I call him Father. Just thought I'd let you know.
And oh, yeah...I live in Saskatchewan, Canada, where there are only two seasons: winter and mosquitoes.
Rick and I, summer - 08 Rick's a West Nile Disease Survivor, and the reason for my book, West Nile Diary, available on Amazon sites, and most other online booksellers. Canadians may also purchase signed copies here.
